President
The President, who serves at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees, is responsible for the overall operation and management of the Institute. The President takes a very active role in the marketing efforts of the organization, including identifying prospective clients, making marketing presentations when appropriate and attending conferences where there are opportunities to promote the organization. The President directly supervises the organization's senior management team. The President works with the officers and staff to develop and implement the Institute’s vision, strategic plan, goals and objectives, as approved by the Board of Trustees. In addition, the development and implementation of all policies and procedures are overseen by the President.

Requirements

  • 7 years experience in senior level administration, such as a Vice president or CEO as well as a relevant graduate degree and/or professional certification
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • An accomplished researcher with extensive technical knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to build a business by bringing contracts into a research organization.
  • Good interpersonal and administrative skills
  • Knowledge and abilities for strategic planning
  • Knowledge of grant and contract development and administration, including Federal and State regulations, requirements and guidelines

Textile and Fluid Flow Scientist
Seeking a scientist to join our team in developing an outstanding research program relevant to the practical interests of the Institute's clients in the industries of textiles, filtration, advanced fibers, and non-woven materials. Key areas of need include studies of mechanics, wettability, absorption, and fluid flow in fibrous and porous structures. The candidate with the highest long term potential will be offered a position at the level of Senior Scientist, Principle Scientist or Research Director. Industrial experience, management experience, and academic accomplishment are the primary factors in determining job level. Ph.D. or equivalent industrial experience in Chemical Engineering, textile science or related field required. Personal excellence in communication, teaching, and team leadership are essential.

Research Scientist
Successful candidates should have formal training (masters preferred) in chemical engineering, physics or bioengineering, and five plus years experience developing, validating and executing measurements in support of innovation programs in one or more of the following areas:

* Scientific imaging and image analysis, ideally including programming expertise in MatLab, novel uses of light and electron microscopy, quantitative approaches to imaging.
* Characterization of complex fluids (thermal analysis, light scattering, rheology), and materials (surface chemistry).
* Automation of the measurement process including data flow and analysis.

This position requires a strong orientation towards teamwork, a self-motivated work ethic, the ability to train and supervise both junior and senior level staff, and comfort with a rapidly varying project portfolio and responsibilities.

Laboratory Technician
Position is ideal for someone with hands-on laboratory experience, preferably with a B.S. or an associate degree in science. We are looking for an independent worker who can carefully and accurately carry out standard operating procedures, while working safely in a laboratory environment. Computer skills a must (Microsoft Office). Other relevant experience will be considered, and training will be provided for the candidate selected. Initial work involves testing of hair fibers for applications in the cosmetic industry. This position will be 35 hours/week for 3 months, possibly longer.
