blond locks, your hair depends on your ancestry. Now researchers have
come closer to figuring out just how hair traits are passed down.
According to a talk presented here last week at the annual meeting
of the American Society of Human Genetics, a single genetic variant
may explain why East Asians have thicker hair fibers than other populations.
The discovery is part of a wave of newly found genes that determine

Hair
Care Polymer Trends
What do the latest patent applications reveal about whats happening
in new technology for hair products?
11/2007 -- One of the first uses of synthetic polymers in hair care
was for hair fixatives in hairsprays. It has long been understood

Now Has A New Industrial Group: Evonik Industries Has Arrived
Essen, Germany (9/12/2007) -- Germany now has a new industrial group:
Evonik Industries has arrived. At the company headquarters in Essen,
Dr. Werner Müller, CEO of the entity previously operating under
the name of RAG Beteiligungs-AG, today presented the new brand with
which Evonik plans to enter the capital market in the first half of
2008. Evonik is Germanys creative industrial group for
chemicals, energy and real estate. Our goal is to become one of the
most creative industrial groups in the world, stated Dr. Müller
as he introduced the new group brand. Our portfolio, which consists
of the Chemicals, Energy, and Real Estate business areas, unites a
strong substance with attractive growth potential, continued
Dr. Müller. The industrial group has been christened Evonik Industries,
representing the highlight of the companys strategic realignment.
This is also the last step prior to entering the capital market. In

name of RAG, and will not be connected with Evonik, the new industrial
group. Evonik is now entering a new era in group development.
We are well positioned, and are looking forward to joining the capital
market, said Dr. Müller. More
