Princeton,
NJ - TRI is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr.
Trefor Evans as Principal Scientist in Measurement Science.
"We are delighted that Dr. Evans is joining the Institute,"
stated Dr. Gail R. Eaton, President of TRI/Princeton. "Considering
his impressive background in measurement science and hair
chemistry, Dr. Evans will be a fantastic asset to TRI's cutting-edge
fundamental and contract research."
Dr.
Evans has a B. S. in Chemistry from the North East Wales Institute
of Technology and a Ph. D. in Physical Analytical Chemistry
from the University of Toledo. After receiving his Ph. D,
Dr. Evans became a Senior Scientist in the Surface Science
Laboratory at Helene Curtis. He worked extensively in product
development, addressing several research concerns including
product stability, manufacturing, performance, and packaging.
In 1994, Dr. Evans earned the Joseph P. Caudelli Award from
the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
Most
recently, Dr. Evans was a Development Manager in Measurement
Science at Unilever, where he honed his expertise in thermal
analysis, cosmetic formulation, and mechanical testing techniques,
as well as his managerial skills. He plans to employ his knowledge
of polymer and adsorption chemistry and product formulation
to advance TRI's hair measurement capacities and provide TRI's
clients with novel, market-forward approaches to hair testing
and product development. Additionally, Dr. Evans hopes to
use his experiences running an in-vitro hair testing laboratory
and teaching on-site hair chemistry classes to optimize TRI's
ongoing continuing education programs.
"A
strong focus in measurement science will take TRI's client
services to the next level," Dr. Evans asserted. "I
am passionate about designing better tests and creating better
products."
TRI/Princeton
was founded in 1930 as the Textile Research Institute to help
the American textile industry stay competitive. Over the decades,
TRI evolved into a full-service research and testing facility,
specializing in hair, fibers, porous materials, polymers,
and films. TRI provides research solutions to a wide variety
of domestic and international industrial companies, governmental
organizations, and academic institutions.
