Katharine currently leads the Global Innovation Platforms for the Beauty Franchise within the Consumer and Personal Care Group of Johnson & Johnson. In this role, Katharine leads a Global R&D function composed of Skin Biology & Pharmacology, Bio-delivery, Imaging and Measurement Sciences, Polymer & Surface Chemistry and Benefit/Technology Platforms for Ageless, Acne, Fairness/Skin Lightening, Sun Protection, Cleaning and Moisture/Barrier. Katharine’s passion is for uncovering new scientific insights and proprietary technology that enable the development of superior and differentiated consumer products. Since joining J&J in 1990, Katharine has led held various positions including leadership of In Vitro Toxicology, Preclinical Pharmacology, Active Naturals and various Skin Care Technology Platforms before assuming her current role. She is a Johnson Medal winner, has authored 14 peer review publications, 1 book, and authored 50+ abstracts. She is an inventor on 14 granted patents and 19+ patent applications. In addition to currently sitting on the TRI Board of Trustees, Katharine has previously held positions on the Institute for In Vitro Sciences Scientific Advisory Panel and the CTFA Alternatives Task Force.
