Making Sense of Hair Sensory Testing
As part of its educational mission TRI Princeton provides support to several Universities in the US and the UK. In October and November Paul Cornwell provided lectures and lab classes on hair science to Cosmetic Science Masters students at Liverpool John Moores University. The lab classes introduced students to sensory testing methods for hair care product development. Tests compared the conditioning effects of leading brands versus low-cost copies. It was, effectively, the Pepsi challenge, but for hair care! It was reassuring to see that some of the branded products did perform better.
