GC-MS is a technique that couples Gas Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry. The Gas chromatography part allows us to separate compounds that could be later identified and quantified using the mass spectrometer.
This technique can be used in a wide variety of cosmetic applications. It is particularly well suited to lipidomic and metabolomic studies where the precise molecular compositions of substances are required.
