Active Ingredient Delivery Studies II

Spectroscopy

If you want to show that your active ingredient is deposited onto the hair cuticle or penetrates more deeply into the fiber, you may consider active ingredient delivery studies.

Both FT-IR spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy enable us to visualize the distribution of a particular molecule or ingredient on the hair cuticle or in a hair cross-section.  The key advantage of FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy is that is often possible to image active delivery without needing to chemically modify, or ‘tag’, the active, therefore formulations can be applied as supplied.
