Konstantinos (Kostas) Verdelis DDS, PhD,  is an Associate Professor with a teaching and research position shared by the department of Endodontics and the department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, which he joined in 2011. He is a dentist/endodontist with a Certificate in Endodontics (Columbia University, 1996) completed after his DDS (University of Athens, Greece, 1994) studies and also holds a PhD  in Oral Biology from University of North Carolina (2006).


His research interests include application of vibrational spectroscopy imaging and X-ray micro-computed tomography (microCT) analysis on animal bone and dental tissues and biomaterials, studies on clinical  procedures in dental practice using  microCT ultrastructural analysis and integrated microCT/Cone Beam CT imaging studies on clinical imaging issues.


He is currently also the director of the microCT Core at the Center for Craniofacial Regeneration, through which he has collaborated with and provided expertise to numerous P.I.s from University of Pittsburgh and several other institutions. He has authored 51 peer-reviewed studies and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several journals.
