Laurent Yvan-Charvet, PhD is a tenured director of research at the INSERM laboratory ‘Physiopathology of Chronic inflammatory Diseases’, which he joined in 2014. He earned his PhD in Endocrinology and Physiopathology from the University of Paris, France, in 2005, summa cum laude.


He completed postdoctoral training in molecular medicine under the mentorship of Prof. Tall at Columbia University. He previously served as Director of Innovative Medicine Research at Pfizer Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases (CVMED). His laboratory has a longstanding focus on metabolic and inflammatory diseases, with an emphasis on their therapeutic potential in human diseases.

His current research explores the nodes linking metabolism and inflammation in chronic inflammatory diseases and is supported by an ERC consolidator Grant. 


His team recently contributed to the creation of a University-Hospital Center dedicated to facilitating translational research (IHU RespirERA). He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed studies and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for numerous journals, funding agencies, and the French Ministry of Research.
