There are two main branches of microscopy: optical and electron. This mini-series will discuss both, outlining key differences between the two, as well as providing key use-cases within cosmetic science and examples of the outputs that can be generated.

Ernesta Malinauskyte, Director of Hair Research at TRI, alongside Shamish Ganpule, Vanessa Castro-Haly from TRI, and Pedro Augusto Laurindo Igreja Marrafa, Adriana Barrinha Fernandes and Carlos Jose de Lima from the Instituto de Engenharia Biomédica and Centro de Inovação, Tecnologia eEducação (CITÉ) in São Paulo, Brazil have published a piece of original research in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science.
