Murielle graduated from Drew University with a bachelor's degree and from Union College with an associate's degree, both in chemistry. As a senior research associate on the hair claims team at TRI, she specializes in evaluations of hair appearance and breakage. In 2025, she developed a standardized method for quantifying hair straightness, with applications to chemically straightened and heat-treated hair. She continues to research consumer perceptions of hair appearance such as frizz, shine, and definition and their correlations to the objective technical measurements studied at TRI. She presented research findings from this work at the 2025 DWI Conference in Germany as well as at the Annual SCS Meeting in London. (You can read more about that on the TRI Library!) Murielle is inspired by the uniqueness and variation within hair and is passionate about sustainability in the cosmetics industry.
