Seasons’ greetings to you all from TRI
To celebrate the festive period, we can offer you all a free copy of the textbook ‘Practical Modern Hair Science’ and the complete proceedings of the ‘10th International Conference on Applied Hair Science’ to stream to your hearts’ content. Both are available in the TRI Library.
‘Practical Modern Hair Science’ (published in 2012) is a great read for anyone new to the hair category and has been written and edited by noted experts in the field, including our own Dr Trefor Evans (Institute Fellow). It covers a wide range of subjects including the structure and chemistry of human hair, hair growth, shampoo and conditioner science, hair color science, hair ethnicity, hair breakage, visual properties of hair, hair damage, dandruff, effects of aging on hair, hair product claims and more! Many thanks to Allured Books, Randall Wickett and Trefor for enabling the open circulation of this useful book. You can access it from the TRI Library homepage.
To get a free PDF copy just scroll down to the bottom of the library entry for the book and click on the small PDF icon. However, if you like, you can also just select a chapter from the Table of Contents and read the content on your browser. The book is also text searchable, so another way to find stuff is to just use the search box at the top of the library page. Enter your subject and the library will take you directly to the pages you need.
We are also pleased to announce that the full proceedings of the ‘10th International Conference on Applied Hair Science’ (held on-line from Monday 6th June to Friday 10th June) are now available to stream on the TRI Library. This includes all 24 podium presentations and 13 posters. This content is available at no extra charge if your company or institution is a library member or a TRI member company. Individuals not part of any member company can purchase access for 12 months for only $100 (secure payment is via PayPal). To find the full list of presentations go to our ‘Box Sets’ section.
