Register Now for the ‘Principles of Skin Measurement & Claims Course’, 2026
The Principles of Skin Measurement Science & Claims course at TRI will take place on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th September 2026 and is now open for registrations.
As in previous years, the course will combine lectures and demos from expert TRI staff with talks from invited speakers. This year we are pleased to announce that we will have Dr. Ritamaria Di Lorenzo (University of Naples Federico II, Italy) speaking about skin claims testing, Loïc Colomb (QIMA Life Sciences, France) speaking about skin imaging techniques, Elodie Gras Lavigne (Neuron Experts, France) speaking about skin culture methods including neuronal cells, Dr Michael Conneely (Ten Bio Ltd, UK) speaking about ex vivo human skin models, and Professor Perry Xiao (Biox Systems Ltd, UK) speaking about skin moisture and skin barrier measurements.
Dr Ritamaria Di Lorenzo is Assistant Professor in Efficacy Assessment and Claims Validation for Cosmetic Products at the University of Naples Federico II. Ritamaria has published widely in the field of natural ingredients for cosmetics and health care and has expert knowledge of claims testing methods for skin and hair. At the course Ritamaria will present “An Introduction to Skin Product Evaluation techniques”.
Loïc Colomb is Chief Customer Officer at QIMA Life Sciences and has 20 years of experience across instrumental, clinical and data-driven product assessment. He brings expertise in clinical assessment, image analysis and the underlying data in cosmetic research, with a focus on the evidential rigor of methods supporting product claims. Loïc will speak on image analysis techniques for skin care in a presentation titled “Cutting-Edge Solutions for Accurate Claims Substantiation”.
Elodie Gras Lavigne has, for more than 10 years, been directing the neurodermatology department of Neuron Experts, where she develops in vitro skin models integrating mature human sensory neurons. She has expertise in using these revolutionary cell models for developing new skin care ingredients and claims. Elodie’s presentation will be titled “The Contribution of In-Vitro Models for the Study of Interactions Between the Sensory System and the Skin”
Dr Michael Conneely is founder and CEO of Ten Bio Ltd, a company specializing in the development of ex vivo full-thickness skin models for skin research and product testing. Micheal’s talk will be titled “Advanced, Ex Vivo Human Skin Models Used for Cosmetic and Dermatological Research”.
Professor Perry Xiao, is co-founder and director of Biox Systems Ltd, a company that designs and manufactures novel instruments for water vapour flux density and skin moisture imaging measurements. Perry has many years of experience in building measurement technologies for bio-medical applications, including skin characterisation, trans-dermal drug diffusion and medical diagnosis. At our course Perry will co-present a presentation titled “Principles of Skin Moisture and Barrier Function Measurements Testing”
